Temento Green 2023

Aromatic and light cuvée. Anniversary edition for the 23rd Temento vintage. Fine peach and apricot fruit, fragrant and delicately spicy on the palate. Great drinking pleasure!

2023 was a challenging year for all of us: constant rain, hail, extreme heat and often violent summer storms. The 2023 wine year began with a dry winter. In March, our forests were tended, pruned, processed and new trees planted. In April, we spread compost and compost preparations. The weather is moderate, we are satisfied. May saw a change in the weather. This resulted in heavy rain and massive landslides throughout southern Styria; these cool and rainy temperatures lasted until June, delaying flowering. In July, there was no stabilization of the weather
The high humidity and hot days brought with them the first major hailstorms. In August, we already counted 1100 liters of rain per square meter. In September, the weather eased a little and so we were able to start harvesting on September 18 in glorious late summer weather. Despite the challenging weather in 2023, we are more than happy with our harvest. In the 13 days of harvesting, our 400 hands may have harvested less than last year, but the quality was outstanding: beautifully small-berried grapes with ideal ripeness and good acidity. For us, this is proof that the biodynamic cultivation of our vineyard is the right approach.
