Podere San Cristoforo
WINERY PODERE SAN CRISTOFORO
At Podere San Cristoforo there is always a light sea breeze that, on the one hand, keeps the grapes healthy and, on the other, moderates the hot summer temperatures. For this reason, the wind is an important element for the ripening of the grapes and the formation of aromatic substances. A determining role is also played by the soil, which is composed of sediments of aeolian origin, formed during the folding of the mineral hills of Gavorrano.
In addition, the soils are rich in fossils and a proportion of good clay.
The estate extends over 45 hectares, divided into 15 hectares of vineyard, 2 hectares of olive grove and 20 hectares of seed land. The grape varieties grown are: Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Vermentino and Trebbiano. The grape varieties grown are: Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Vermentino and Trebbiano.
