LIMERICK LANE WINERY

Limerick Lane Cellars is a small 11-hectare winery in the northeast corner of the cool Russian River Valley in northern Sonoma County, California. The appellation is world-renowned for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Zinfandel and Rhone grape varieties are the exception here. But the Zinfandels from Limerick Lane are world class. They are among the finest in the country and fascinated us so much over 30 years ago that we imported them back then. However, the vineyards around the estate are also a treasure. Some of the plots were planted around 1900 and are old field blends, mixed sets of grape varieties that have already died out in Europe.

Limerick Lane Zinfandel is expressive and powerful, full-bodied and juicy, but at the same time unusually fresh, almost filigree despite its fullness, fine and elegant, it is agile in the mouth, lively and cheerful to drink, it flows well and is a real pleasure.
