WINERY JAMEK

With a vineyard area of 25 hectares, the winery is one of the most respectable private estates and has large contiguous vineyards in the very best primary rock sites. The Klaus vineyard, synonymous with Jamek's wine culture, is located in a steep slope with over a hundred stone terraces. This is where Jamek's prototype for the Wachau Riesling has been produced for decades. Since 1959, the House of Jamek has been bottling this wine jewel, which can be considered a parable of Josef Jamek's great life's work. Vineyards such as Achleiten, Stein am Rain and Hochrain have also been a household name for wine lovers for years. The tradition of the winery and the associated restaurant has been carried on with the same ambition by Jamek's daughter Jutta and her husband Hans Altmann since 1996.
