Chateau Roc de Cambes comes from the Cotes de Bourg appellation. Curiously, there are still not many wines from Cotes de Bourg that are worth mentioning. Francois Mitjavile, owner of Tertre Roteboeuf and no stranger to the winemaking scene, holds the reins at Roc de Cambes and wants to prove that very fine wines can also come from this appellation. A Roc de Cambes is already beautifully accessible when young, as Mitjaville is one of the extremists who advocates the theory of harvesting Merlot as late as possible in order to obtain the ripest grapes possible. He vinifies his wines for earlier drinking pleasure. When drunk young, they offer a flattering subtlety that few Bordeaux wines can match.
