WINERY KOLLWENTZ

"That's what makes the real greats among winemakers: whether it's a small or a grandiose vintage, you can always rely on them. Andi Kollwentz is the decathlete among Austria's winemakers, because he understands the most diverse disciplines and can be found in the top field in every category ...", writes Peter Moser of Falstaff Magazine about this traditional winery.
He is assisted by his father Anton Kollwentz. He, the pioneer of Burgenland, draws from a wealth of experience of more than 50 years of winemaking.
Blaufränkisch and Chardonnay are the dominant vines in the winery, which has been in existence since 1775. In addition to the meticulous viticultural work, the success of the Kollwentz family is probably also due to their vineyard property. The sites on the southern slopes of the Leithagebirge are among the oldest and best in the country.

The Dürr vineyard was first mentioned in a document in 1526. Due to the altitude of the Dürr vineyard and the coolness of the surrounding forest, the Pinot Noir grapes slowly reach full maturity. Distinct minerality and finesse characterize this Pinot grown on shell limestone soil. Intense aromas of strawberries and ripe fruit. Velvety tannin, full and powerful on the palate. Structured and elegant, long finish.
