WINERY VIENNA COBENZL

Vienna is home to the only wine-growing region in the world that lies entirely within the boundaries of a metropolis. The Vienna Cobenzl W inery is one of the most important domestic wineries and has been owned by the City of Vienna for over 110 years. Here, under the management of Thomas Podsednik, outstanding quality wines are pressed from around 60 hectares of vineyards in Grinzing, on the Nussberg and on the Bisamberg.
In keeping with the size and diversity of sites and grape varieties, there is a wide range of quality wines.
In addition, in the summer of 2020 the complete conversion to organic viticulture took place. After expiration of the 3-year conversion period stipulated by EU organic regulation, the wines may be marketed as "organic wine" from the 2023 vintage.

Light, delicate color, straw yellow with green reflections. Fine aromas on the nose, elderflower scent, delicate vegetal and spicy notes alongside flowers, all leading to a fine, fruity muscat fragrance. On the palate, the juicy, animating character of the variety is combined with the ripeness of the vintage, pleasantly dry, fine fruit acidity, once again elegant in its varietal typicity. Cool citrus notes.
