WINERY EGO BODEGAS

The Ego Bodegas winery is located a few kilometers from the gates of the historic town of Jumilla. This is located in the ancient wine-growing region of Murcia, on the southern tip of Spain's east coast. The history of Ego Bodegas, in contrast to its historic surroundings, is short. At the beginning of the 21st century, the young team around Santos Ortiz came together and made the creation of first-class, immediately drinkable wines their credo, which, however, have the potential to age for several years in the bottle.
On 25 hectares of barren vineyards, international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Moscatel and Chardonnay are grown, as well as the Monastrell, which is famous for the region. On the poor weathered soils, the native vines, some of which are 50 years old or more, are exposed to the semi-arid climate.
