The pride and joy of the Rueda wine region in central Spain is its native white grape, Verdejo, which also forms the basis for Basa. The winemaker Telmo Rodriguez (son of the owner of Remelluri) has refined the Verdejo with Viura and Sauvignon Blanc and delivers with the Basa year after year for little money real top qualities. With his Compañía de Vinos, Telmo Rodríguez pursues the objectives in collaboration with initiative winemakers: Promotion of traditional grape varieties, protection of old vineyards, careful handling of soil and plants, and traditional, natural vinification, combined with the highest quality standards.
