VINA VIK WINERY

Alexander Vik - Norwegian entrepreneur and wine lover - founded the winery in 2004 with the vision of creating a world-class vineyard that would provide the optimal conditions for the vines to ripen. Together with a team of enologists, climate specialists, geologists, agronomists and viticulturists, he searched for the best terroir with optimal climatic conditions. They found what they were looking for in the Millahue Valley - which translates as "place of gold" - and in 2006 he launched his wine project. With great success - as his creations prove. Internationally, his wines have already won!

Tasting note

The name VIK Milla Cala is a combination of Mapuche, the valley in Millahue where the winery is located, and the Spanish name Cala, synonymous with the Norwegian name Vik.

The vines grow on the northern slope of the Apalta Valley, located about two hundred kilometers from Santiago. The vineyards form an area of about eight hectares and are planted with six different vines, chosen depending on the characteristics of the terroir, climate and sun exposure.

With a bit more Carménère and Cabernet Franc than its big elegant sister VIK, VIK Milla Cala shows itself to be a rich, well-structured, impeccably balanced and beautifully fresh wine.

The Cabernet Sauvignon seduces with a firm but patient structure. Cabernet Franc offers minerality, elegance and exquisite fruitiness.
The Carménère fills the senses with black fruits and offers endless volume. The Milla Cala 2018 dances uninhibitedly on the palate, spice, unstoppable vibrancy and balanced acidity. The Merlot contributes to the finesse, while the Syrah carries notes of violet and lavender.
