WINERY KRACHER

He was also known as the "Sweet Wine Pope" - in Illmitz on Lake Neusiedl in Austria, a winegrower became an ambassador for Austria's wines: Alois Kracher. This name stands for perfect sweetness worldwide. The "Luis" was known from Hong Kong to Los Angeles to London. It was a long way to get there and came to a tragic end. Like all Austrian winegrowers and especially sweet wine producers, Alois Kracher Senior had a very difficult time since the wine scandal in 1985. In 1989, his 30-year-old son Alois, originally a chemist, decided to join the family winery.
His success was soon reflected in the form of multiple awards. Whether it was the title of "Winemaker of the Year", which he received six times, or numerous points from Parker, his fame grew and grew.
Noble sweet Scheurebe, Zweigelt and Chardonnay creations continue to delight a worldwide audience. They are still among the best sweet wines in the world today!
