WINERY DOMAINE WACHAU

Domäne Wachau has developed into one of the most important wineries in Austria with a variety of typical Wachau wines under the management of Roman Horvath MW and Heinz Frischengruber. World-famous vineyards such as Achleiten, Kellerberg and Singerriedel are only representative of the wealth of top sites that Domäne Wachau vinifies.
A decisive relevance in the entirety of Domäne Wachau comes from the work of the winemaking families. Often working for generations in the steep terraces of the Wachau, they know the specifics of each plot. In detail-loving manual work and with enormous experience, they ensure an ecological balance in the vineyards, promote the diversity of species and plants and increasingly rely on organic farming.

Tasting note

Open and complex on the nose; spicy and intense fruit flavors on the palate. Very structured and powerful yet elegant and refreshing, pronounced complex body and long finish. Best enjoyed chilled, fresh from the refrigerator.

COMPOSITION OF THIS ROSÉ:
Pinot Noir, Blue Zweigelt

Rosé wine (short: rosé) is a type of wine that gets its characteristic pink color from the contact of the red grape skins with the grape must during fermentation. Unlike red wines, however, the skins are left in contact with the must for only a limited time, giving rosé wine its light to intense pink color.

Rosé wine can be produced in several ways. The most common methods are direct pressing and the saignée method. In the direct pressing method, the grapes are lightly pressed to extract the juice without prolonged maceration with the skins. In the saignée method, part of the must is extracted from already vinified red wines and fermented separately as rosé wine.

Rosé wine is often served well chilled and is excellent as a summer wine or as an accompaniment to lighter dishes such as salads, seafood, grilled vegetables or light pasta dishes. Its vibrant color and pleasant taste make rosé wine a popular choice for connoisseurs looking for a fresh and fruity wine.
