Château Roc de Cambes - Cotes de Bourg AC 2019

Ripe, dense and enormously muscular, the wine rolls into the mouth and opens there in dense, broad surges of vinous pleasure. Its dark spicy and berry notes, reminiscent of blackberries, ripe plums, black currants, coffee and chocolate, fragrant leather, cedar and noble tobacco, it discharges into a mouthfeel that amazes. Great wine from a supposedly small appellation. Yet not many wines (even much more expensive and famous) can hold a candle to it in this vintage. Its noble, precious balsamic bouquet is breathtakingly beautiful, although the wine appears almost pompous at first sight and acts unusually muscular - like a panther in waiting. Dark, almost black, and dense in color. Powerfully expressive in the bouquet, which takes hold lustily, deeply and broadly and promptly delivers the fulfillment of (almost) all wine longings. The beautiful cliché of the Bordeaux, which makes you forget thinking for the sake of enjoyment, seems to come true here.
