WINERY ALZINGER

In the early 1980s, Leo Alzinger began making wines that focused on their origins and quietly but precisely told their individual stories.

In the mid-seventies, Leo Alzinger Sr. took over the winery from his parents, who sold their grapes on to the Dinstlgut estate in Loiben. With the 1983 vintage, he decided to vinify and market his grapes himself. From the very beginning, he pursued his own intention, a style that has not changed significantly to this day. Precision, clarity, straightforwardness, filigree and liveliness were attributes that soon became synonymous with his wines.
Leo Alzinger Sr. has since passed on responsibility for the winery to his son, but still works almost daily in the vineyards and on the stone walls.

Tasting note

Complex aromatic profile, dominated by spice and cool herbal aromas; precise body; compact and salty to the palate and beyond; long and persistent.

Light green-yellow, silver reflections. Fine nuances of white fruit, yellow apple fruit, delicate hints of apricots, candied orange zest, fine minerality, underlaid with a hint of herbal spice. Juicy, elegant, fine fruit sweetness at the core, finesse-rich acidity, salty-mineral finish, a silky food companion, sure development potential.
