Certified by Ecocert, Perrin Nature is both an "organic" Côtes-du-Rhône and a premium wine. Thanks to our experience in organic and biological viticulture (Beaucastel was one of the first large French estates to turn to organic farming already 40 years ago), this wine has a nice freshness that combines fruity and floral aromas.
THE YEAR
Due to very good weather conditions, 2020 was an abundant year in both qualitative and quantitative terms. It was less hot than 2019, but very windy with low precipitation throughout the vegetation cycle. After a rather warm and mild winter (there was a single frost event on the night of March 24-25, but only the very early ripening plots were very slightly affected), the spring was bright, very friendly and windy, allowing the soils to maintain their freshness. Flowering began on May 18 in very healthy conditions. The nice weather continued in June, July and August, bringing summer heat but lower temperatures than in 2019, as well as cool, damp nights. The wind, which continued to blow constantly, preserved the freshness of the vines and kept the grapes in perfect health. Therefore, already from August 26, the fairly early harvest began in very good conditions with the white Côtes-du-Rhône and continued until the end of September, where it ended with the harvest of Mourvèdre. September, initially quite hot and later more temperate, provided ideal harvest conditions and allowed the harvest of each plot at the perfect time of ripeness. The harvest was very healthy and gave us beautiful, juicy and ripe grapes, reasonable alcohol levels, good acidity and an already nice balance. Yields are slightly higher than 2019 and the first tastings suggest a very nice vintage.
