Martelli
PASTA MANUFACTURER MARTELLI
For 95 years, the Martelli family has been producing its now world-famous pasta in the small town of Lari near Pisa in Tuscany. And the Martellis have truly perfected pasta-making during this time. Anyone who has ever tasted these pastas, which are also so attractively designed in their characteristic yellow packaging, knows that.
The history of the family business began with the two brothers Guido and Gastone Martelli, who in 1926 took over the pasta factory located in Lari, where they had worked for years. Together with their wives Giuseppina and Dina, they managed the business even through the difficult war years.
The following generations of the Martelli family have always remained true to traditional pasta making and high standards. The production is manageable, and so the family business manages to keep the quality at the highest level. Because here in Lari, the emphasis is on slowness: In a traditional artisan process, with bronze machines and a drying time of 50 hours, rough and porous pasta is created that can absorb sauces wonderfully.
Martelli also does without fancy pasta varieties and restricts itself to the classics. Because the motto is: quality before quantity. And this is appreciated by all those who are looking for perfect pasta. The spaghetti, spaghettini, penne, maccheroni and fusilli from Martelli come very, very close to this perfection. Try it for yourself!
