The Ventoux AOP from Perrin & Fils shimmers in the glass in an intense red and unfolds the delicious aromas of ripe red fruits, which are underpinned by a fine spice.
On the palate, this cuvée of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan and Cinsault presents itself fresh and elegant with the flavors of cassis and blackberries.
The 2022 vintage was characterized by contrasting climatic conditions, which allowed for beautiful grape quality and promising aromatic complexity, albeit with very different yields depending on the parcel. Winter and spring were particularly mild and very dry, with the months of January and May proving to be the driest since the beginning of the 20th century, with record temperatures in May and June. These conditions made it possible to keep the vines in an excellent state of health, as diseases were completely absent. The summer was then very sunny with high temperatures, which suggested wines with a high alcohol content, but beneficial rainfall in mid-August allowed the grapes to continue ripening more slowly. On August 19, the harvest began under very good auspices and 11 days earlier than in 2021. There was some rain in September, which did not affect the excellent quality of the grapes, but made it necessary to sort out the parcels. We treated our rosés very carefully in order to produce elegant, fruity wines that are not high in alcohol. The red wines, for their part, were gently processed and carefully extracted, resulting in particularly balanced wines. Initial tastings suggest a promising 2022 vintage with great complexity and aromatic richness as well as a very nice balance.
