PERRIN FAMILY WINERY

The heart of the Perrin family's estate, dedicated to viticulture since 1909, is the nearly 100-hectare stately Château de Beaucastel, perched on a hill northeast of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and one of the most impressive estates in France. Perrin has been farmed according to the principles of biodynamic viticulture since 1964 (!) and is kept at an average vine age of 50 years by a sophisticated rotation system.

Due to the exclusive use of organic fertilizers, the winery was spared from many diseases. Today, a great many bees and birds, crickets and ladybugs live in Beaucastel.
Nature and traditional methods are the Perrin family's assets and this knowledge has been seamlessly passed down for 5 generations.

The 70-hectare Château de Beaucastel Rot vineyard is located between Orange and Avignon, in Châteauneuf du Pape. All 13 grape varieties are cultivated here. Each variety is harvested individually by hand. The reductive varieties Mourvèdre and Syrah are vinified in oak barrels, while the oxidative varieties (all others) are processed in traditional concrete vats. After malolactic fermentation, the varieties are blended. Finally, the wine is left to mature for a year in oak barrels. In the glass, you immediately notice the wonderful, intense ruby red color. The nose is very opulent and complex with ripe cherries, dark berries and plum jam. Spicy and floral notes and a hint of cocoa and chocolate round off the diverse bouquet. Very elegant and velvety on the palate, with ripe, fine tannins. Strong aromas of black berries and fine spices underline and reinforce the silky texture. Wonderfully long-lasting, harmonious finish, carried by the aromatic interplay of fruity, spicy and floral notes.
