WINERY ZANTHO
Zantho was founded out of a vision; the idea of producing exceptional wines together close to nature and the region.
The foundation for this was laid by Josef Umathum, successful winemaker from Frauenkirchen and Wolfgang Peck, oenologist from Andau together with selected members of the Domaine Andau. Success was not long in coming. In the meantime, they cultivate 80 hectares of vineyards in the Neusiedlersee winegrowing region and export the wine with the lizard to over 40 countries.
The Pannonian forest lizard - the "Dadaraxl" as the Andauer says - adorns their labels. It is mainly native to the Hansag nature reserve, south of Andau, and serves as a symbol of origin and stands for the near-natural cultivation of the vineyards.
