WINERY HIRTZBERGER

The Hirtzberger family from Spitz is one of the leading winegrowers in the Wachau. They cultivate some of the best vineyards in the Wachau. The steep terraced vineyards, such as Singerriedel, directly behind the Hirtzberger family winery, are famous. But the Hochrain, Setzberg and Rotes Tor sites are also firm favorites in the estate's range. These are some of the best white wines in the world and anyone who has ever tasted vintages such as 1997 or 1999 knows what we are talking about. The 2017, 2015, 2010, 2006 and 2005 vintages are also great.

The winery stands for the highest quality standards, both in the vineyard and later in the cellar. The wines are traditionally matured in large wooden barrels. Unfortunately, the demand for these wines has increased so much in recent years that many of the best wines are sold out early.

This harmonious wine with a scent of red apple and lime and fine spice is a great Wachau classic. It takes its name from the vineyards that lie beneath the remains of the old town walls of Spitz on the Danube.
