WINERY BASSERMANN-JORDAN

The Dr. von Bassermann-Jordan winery is a company with a long family tradition of over 300 years. Since 1718, generation after generation have worked with expertise and flair to perfect top Palatinate wines and have thus made it to the top of the world. Tradition and economic modernity have always been one and the same. In Deidesheim, precious wines are traditionally matured in wooden barrels in the centuries-old sandstone vaults. Bassermann-Jordan sparkling wine is also produced there in traditional bottle fermentation.
In the modern wine press and cellar, on the other hand, the wine is vinified at the highest technical level in a modern, fruit-driven style. Great importance is attached to a careful, natural fermentation without artificial additives.

The grapes for this Pinot Gris come from various vineyards around Deidesheim, whose light to medium-heavy, sandy loess soils give the wine a special complexity. After careful processing and selective harvesting, it reveals a seductive bouquet of ripe pears, juicy peaches and a hint of tropical fruit on the nose.

The Pfalzer Pinot Gris impresses on the palate with its creamy texture, which is perfectly balanced by a gentle acidity structure. Flavors of green apples, honeydew melon and subtle spicy notes give it a fascinating depth and complexity.
